Hi, I’m Shane Turner, a dedicated and results-driven executive with over 20 years of experience leading complex military and private sector programs and projects. I serve as the Vice President of Multi-Domain Test & Evaluation at Astrion, where I focus on delivering innovative solutions in defense and technology. I also have a background in electronic warfare, defense systems, and the integration of emerging technologies. I hold a Doctorate in Business Administration from National University.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to lead large-scale teams and manage multimillion-dollar projects. One of my most significant achievements was overseeing a 700+ workforce across the western United States to successfully execute an $896M Department of Defense contract. My focus has always been on enhancing operational efficiency, exceeding technical benchmarks, and delivering cost-effective solutions. Whether it’s integrating new training locations, securing strategic leases like the Electronic Warfare Complex, or driving safety initiatives that resulted in a 3-year zero-incident record, I thrive on solving complex challenges and delivering results.
My expertise spans product lifecycle management, cross-functional team coordination, and innovative solution development. I’ve managed everything from range modernization efforts to the installation of cutting-edge directed energy systems, always with a focus on collaboration, resource optimization, and risk mitigation. I’m deeply committed to leveraging emerging technologies to push the boundaries of what’s possible in defense and beyond.
My goal is to share insights that are both professional and approachable, helping others navigate the complexities of high-stakes projects with confidence. Outside of my professional life, I’m a lifelong learner and advocate for continuous improvement. I’ve published research on work-related stressors and turnover intentions among project engineers, and I’m always looking for ways to share knowledge and foster growth within my teams.
This blog is a space where I’ll share insights, experiences, and lessons learned from my journey in defense, technology, and leadership. Whether you’re here for industry insights, leadership tips, or a behind-the-scenes look at managing complex projects, I’m excited to connect and learn together. Thanks for stopping by!
